This Year's Model Updates:

The 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 5.3-liter V8 receives tweaks that yield incrementally better fuel economy, including a standard six-speed transmission and variable valve timing (the 6.2-liter V8 also receives the former, and the 4.8-liter V8 the latter). All V8s can now run on E85 as well as gasoline. Side curtain airbags, front-seat side airbags and stability control are standard on all models, and all stereos except the base unit offer USB connectivity. Finally, the 6.0-liter V8 has been dropped.

Pros:
  • Smooth and quiet ride, agreeable seats, powerful optional V8s, comprehensive standard safety equipment.
Cons:
  • Large turning circle, bland base interior design, mediocre cabin storage.

  • Just got it - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

This review seems a little premature due the fact I just took delivery 1 day ago. Yet so far this thing is super nice & rides great. Plenty of room to suits my needs.

  • Bad bumpers on back - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The bumper on back of this truck is plastic in the middle went to plug my camper lights in and it bent down so far my plug hit the bottom part of the bumper this is not built like a rock this is a truck needs a good bumper on back.

  • Maybe a little too fancy - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Nice truck, looks like a luxury car inside & rides like one too. Smooth shifting transmission & powerful 5.3 L V8. The only prob I have is at night the headlights will dim for a split sec then come back up(Im taking it in to have them check this) & the volt gauge will drop when sitting at a stop light with the A/C on, annoying but normal according to the owners manual. The truck has an Electric Power Management system that can reduce the power demands of some accessories when needed. The A/C kicks on & the interior lights dim! My F250 never did these things to me, but it never gave me the mileage this Chevy does. A really nice, smooth, & powerful truck (if you dont mind a dipping volt gauge)

  • poor mpg - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

My truck says the estimated mileage is 15 city / 21 hwy I drive normal and my mpg highway is 16 mpg and city 12 this has been my worst truck in fuel consumption, you can even see a dirty black tailpipe, dealer says, if it does not show codes it is fine it drives great and I like it except the mpg and no dic switch for a Lt I guess as not to scare us for the estimated mileage it was going to show honestly, if I had known of this poor mpg I would still be buying ford trucks, they always gave about 19 to 23 mpg my wife love it and at the same time hate it because it didnt came with running boards like all my other Fords other than that it is a great truck with poor mpg

  • Great light duty pickup - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

After 3 years and 22,000 miles, no real complaints. Dealer replaced Chevy bowtie logo on tailgate twice under warranty due to cosmetic flaking, and recently re-programmed the setting on the defroster to eliminate an interior cabin fogging issue, but all else is mechanically perfect. Gas mileage on the 4.6L V-6 is not as good as I was hoping (only ~19mpg highway empty bed with no A/C running and 55mph speeds, & 14mpg city). Interior treatment is an expanse of bland gray plastic and the dash seems poorly designed in terms of storage, with 3 cubbies too small to be of any real use. However, these are relatively small issues. I like the truck overall very much and will keep it for yrs.

  • VERY HAPPY OWNER - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I bought this truck mainly to haul people in comfort, and occasionally loads of gravel, bark, or building material. The comfort is outstanding. The front seats are luxurious. Rear seat room is adequate for large adults. The build feels solid. Fuel economy appears to be near EPA estimates based on the Driver Information Center (DIC) I got 20 MPG coming home from the dealer-about 60 miles. I cant tell when the truck shifts between 4 and 8 cylinders unless I am watching on the DIC. There are many personalized settings to be made on the DIC. The dual zone climate control works great. Very happy!

  • Love My Silverado - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I have a 2010 Silverado 1500 WT. Bought it with the 4.3 V6, black with black interior, power windows/locks/mirrors/cruise and keyless entry. Its a regular cab tho with not a lot of space behind the seat. It starts up and runs every morning. Ive had it since 9miles and now Im up to 9,000. No problems. Check the oil every 3k. Its quiet on the highway, pulling less than 2,000 rpms at 70 mph. It gets about 16 in town. That could be better but the truck does weigh over 2 tons. Great visibility at night. I wanted a reliable truck that could take me past 200k miles and Im on my way. I wanted the 4.3 V6. I had that motor before in another vehicle and i like it. Great Truck.

  • Great Buy for a HD 1/2 ton - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Got this WT with the towing pkg for hauling horses. It has plenty of power and rides smooth. The $6,000 rebate brought the price down to $26,800 which was a steal. For the money its the best truck you can buy.

  • MY SILVERADO HAS NEVER FAILED ME - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
    By -

MY 2010 SILVERADO HAS 47,500 MILES now. No problems at this time. WAY below freezing jacks up tire pressure monitor. AND THE ORIGINAL TIRES WILL NEED REPLACED SOON. Auto transfer case works well for 4x4 use. Drag to get in neutral. BUT THE AUTO SELECT DIAL FOR 4X4 IS EASY TO USE. THE MANUAL BUTTONS ON SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION WORK WELL TOO. HOWEVER THE MANUAL BUTTON HOLDS A LOW GEAR IF SELECTED WHEN YOU ENTER BACK ON HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEED IN LOW GEAR ASSUMING AUTOMATIC STILL. THOUGH ON HILLS ,THE MANUAL BUTTON WORKS TERRIFIC WITH THE GEARS USE. FANTASTIC STEREO AND SPEAKERS. WIDE TURN, BUT OKAY. MINE IS REASONABLE ON GAS. IT IS OK FOR LOAD TOO.
